Upper School
The upper school includes 6th-12th Grades.
Our upper school students study literature, mathematics, history, and science as part of a rigorous traditional liberal arts and sciences sequence.

About upper school
In the Upper School, students build on their foundational knowledge by developing deeper understanding and practical application skills. They analyze what they’ve learned by asking how, what, and why, identifying connections, and sharpening their reasoning. These skills help students think critically, recognize truths, and evaluate ideas with clarity and confidence.
As they progress, students focus on expressing and applying their knowledge effectively. They learn to communicate persuasively through writing, speaking, and creative projects, using their understanding to make meaningful contributions in both academics and life. The Upper School experience equips students with the tools they need to think deeply, communicate clearly, and positively impact the world around them.
Curriculum Highlights
The curriculum includes an introduction to logic, a progression into advanced mathematics, a rich and thought-provoking look at World and American history from ancient times to the present, and in-depth discussions of moral and political philosophy.

Literature
To become educated, self-aware, and responsible individuals, students must engage with the great literary works of our cultural tradition. Studying classic literature nurtures the moral imagination, helping students develop their understanding of what is good, true, and beautiful. Our curriculum thoughtfully guides students through historic and significant works of literature, leading them to appreciate the joy of stories and the lessons they have to teach us.
Mathematics
Our math program follows the rigorous Singapore Math curriculum, which lays the foundation for algebraic thinking in grammar school, then fuels success for more advanced concepts in the upper school. Our upper school students master algebra and geometry, and move on to advanced mathematical subjects such as trigonometry, statistics, and calculus.
History
History is far more than memorizing names, dates, and events. It is a profound exploration of the human experience. By engaging with historical texts, students encounter the past through the words of those who lived it, gaining insight into the achievements, struggles, and ideas that continue to shape our world today.
Science
In science, students learn to observe and explore the natural world through systematic investigation. They develop essential skills such as critical questioning, data collection, hypothesis testing, and theoretical application. This hands-on approach fosters scientific literacy and a deeper understanding of the universe’s underlying principles.
Senior Thesis
Our senior curriculum is rigorous and invites students to grapple with complex questions about human nature and engage deeply with the “great conversation of great ideas.” Students will participate in a comprehensive thesis program that serves as the capstone of their classical education. This experience allows them to reflect on the wisdom they’ve gained while honing essential skills such as critical thinking, rhetoric, and writing.
